May 2025 Edition: Community and Connection
Hi! In this month's newsletter we're exploring the impact of community, connection and coaching. Tasha Eurich reminds us in her book Shatterproof that connection is one of our most essential psychological needs. For dentists—who often work in high-pressure, high-isolation environments—this couldn’t be more true.
Over the years, I’ve seen how powerful it is when dentists come together in community. It’s not just about sharing strategies—it’s about being seen, supported, and reminded that you’re not alone.
When you have the right people in your corner, everything changes.
Insight of the Month: Community & Connection
Dentistry can sometimes feel like a solo journey. But the truth is, sustainable growth and true fulfillment don’t happen in isolation. They happen in community.
At Dental Coaches, we’ve seen firsthand the transformation that takes place when dentists connect with other growth-minded professionals who understand the challenges of running a practice—and are willing to share what works.
That’s why we created our Power Call community: a safe, uplifting space for peer-to-peer learning and authentic support. Unlike the online dental boards that often spiral into negativity, our Power Calls foster a culture of encouragement, insight, and action.
But community alone isn’t enough. Sometimes, we need an outside perspective—a coach who sees what you can’t when you’re in the thick of it. That’s the power of coaching. Our approach goes beyond online modules and cookie-cutter advice. We’re in your office, hands-on, building strategies side-by-side with your team. We're not just cheerleaders—we’re trusted advisors who roll up our sleeves and help you get it done.
With community and coaching, you’re never alone—and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. Together, we unlock clarity, confidence, and a clear path forward.
Success Story: Transforming Practices
When I started working with Dr. Russell Mann in 2013, he was feeling the weight of long hours, low profitability, and stagnant growth. Like many dentists, he wanted more—but wasn’t sure how to get there. What made all the difference was his commitment to real change. Within two years, his production jumped from $472 to over $900 per hour. He made bold moves, like dropping Delta Dental and investing in smarter marketing—and it paid off.
Today, Dr. Mann produces well over $1,100 an hour while working just 3.5 days a week. That’s not just a successful practice—it’s a fulfilling life. I’m proud of the work we’ve done together, and even prouder of the vision he’s made a reality.

Tip of the Month
Feeling stuck or isolated? One of the best things you can do is connect with other dentists who understand the journey.
That’s why we host Power Calls—real conversations with real peers navigating similar challenges.
As Dr. Leila Suki shared: “Today’s group meeting really lifted my spirits… It helps to hear others express similar difficulties and offer possible solutions. You steer the group in a masterful, fun, productive way.”
Sometimes, the support you need is just one conversation away.
Resources
One of the most powerful resources we offer isn’t a tool or a template—it’s a community. And you’re invited to be part of it. We meet virtually on the first Tuesday of every month, and the conversations are filled with real talk, real strategies, and real encouragement.
Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or just want to stay inspired, there’s a seat for you at the table.Next Power Call: Tuesday, May 6 Come for the insight—stay for the connection.Join us for one this year and see the difference community can make.
Did You Know?
“People with strong social relationships are 50% more likely to live longer.” — Study published in PLOS Medicine, by Julianne Holt-Lunstad et al.
This wasn’t a small study—it was a meta-analysis of 148 studies and over 300,000 participants. The findings? Social connection has a greater impact on longevity than obesity, smoking, or even physical inactivity.
For professionals like dentists, that’s more than an interesting stat—it’s a wake-up call. Strong relationships aren’t just good for our stress levels or leadership style—they’re essential to our health and endurance.
Connection helps us feel better, lead better, and last longer in a demanding profession.
This is why community—whether with your team or your peers—matters more than ever. Your well-being and your practice’s success are deeply connected.
Connection is powerful—but only if you take that first step toward it.
Join us for an upcoming Power Call and experience the support, insight, and energy of a peer community that’s rooting for your growth. Your next breakthrough might be just one conversation away.
